Flo's artwork literally 'weaves' community. Whether you find yourself in her studio or surrounded by one of her installations in an exhibition space, you
discover that you instinctively know how to operate this 'loom'. You find
yourself employed as a cultural worker and transformed into a griot.

My husband and I purchased our house in 1963 and it was a wonderful space to raise our children. In 2001, we remodeled it to fit our current needs. I wanted walls on which to hang my art and windows to bring in light and nature. I used the principles of art to determine color and other aesthetic choices in our house. The colors of our walls are taken from colors that I use in my art. We now have enough space to host our children and their families comfortably. We continue to have parties, large and small, so that we can break bread with family, friends, and colleagues.

We have won several awards for the remodel
of our house.
