Home To Camp

From the personal to the profound, Flo Oy Wong's renderings, rice sack installations and cultural memorabilia tell the poignant tales of our roots. My first encounters with her ouevre were graphite images on paper, little vignettes of Chinatown life in her family's restaurant. They captured my attention in the early 1990s. Today's little theatre in luggage serve as miniature performances, presenting nostalgic angst as residue of our histories. They are a silent call for justice and recognition.
